Dr. Shermer is a board-certified emergency physician and military medical officer with over 15 years of clinical and operational experience. He has served as an EMS Medical Director, an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, and a hands-on instructor for military medical personnel across the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Space Force.
His passion for prehospital and tactical medicine — combined with a reputation for making complex clinical concepts approachable and memorable — led him to build MilMedSim. The platform translates his teaching philosophy into an always-available, AI-powered training environment that meets military medical providers where they are: in the field, between shifts, and on deployment.
Dr. Shermer holds certifications in PHTLS, ACLS, and ATLS, and is trained in published TCCC guidelines. He has authored the simulation scenarios and clinical protocols that form the backbone of the MilMedSim curriculum. Every feedback response and clinical explanation on the platform reflects his direct clinical judgment.
